Lucille Horn

Obituary of Lucille Horn

Horn, Lucille (nee Conlin)

Born May 16,1920, after her twin sister who died at birth. Lucille became a Coney Island incubator baby and survived. She began life's newest journey on February 11, 2017. Wife of the late Clarence E. Horn, Jr., Cherished sister of Dorothy (Wally) Hultman and the late Jane and Bob Northridge. Dearly beloved mother of Lance (Rosemary), Clare, Barbara, Julie and Paul (Barbara). Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren will miss growing up with her. She treasured her 8 nieces and nephew. Her little rescue dog Riley keeps looking for her.

Mom's life was a gift of love and a fine example to her children. She was a great lady. She converted to Catholicism through the inspiration of the Jesuit who counseled her when she was preparing to marry Catholic father. She practiced her faith with joy and dedication.

She loved her sisters, Jane and Dorothy, shopping for shoes in Nordstrom's, all the dogs in her life, especially Riley, the last one who comforted her and brought her joy in her later years, and, of course, chocolate. Her powers of observation were legendary; her hearing and vision at 96 surpassed almost any 20 year old.... she was ingenious at spotting the funny things in everyday life.

She was a gracious host to her children's many friends, treating them like the grandest combination of honored guest and close family member.

She often pondered; "what would life be like if my twin sister were here?" At the cemetery today, we discovered that there is room for Mom to be buried with her twin sister. May they rest in peace.
