Saturday, June 10, 2017Another of the Great Generation has left us to receive his reward for a full life, well lived. I'll miss knowing Uncle Ray and his special smile is no longer with us. He was a special man, an especially kind man. I remember vividly his trying to teach me how to hit a golf ball while we were in front of Muriel's house. I was a willing, but awkward student, and never did learn to play golf. My daughters, Donna and Tina, and I were able to visit him last week while he was in the hospital. It isn't often we get to say a last goodbye, but I am so grateful that I was able to say goodbye, and God be with you to Uncle Ray. One of my last joyful memories was dancing with him at Suzanne's wedding, and there we stole some private minutes together to talk quietly. My deepest condolences to Robbie and Katie, and his many wonderful nieces and nephews and grandchildren, who I know are greatly saddened by his passing and will miss him terribly.
