Obituary of Doris M. Fields

On May 23, 1929 Doris Marie Lee was born to Constance Toussaint and On Lee in Panama. She graduated from high school in 1948 and went to Corte y Confeccion Sewing School- Doris graduated 2nd in her class of 100. After graduating she worked as a seamstress at the Balboa Clubhouse and at the Diablo Clubhouse. Doris also worked at the NCO Club in Clayton. She migrated to the United States with her late husband Robert Fields, their son Giovanni and her daughter Gisel. Doris and Robert were married for 55 years before he passed in September of 2016. She worked at the Sheraton Hotel for 25 years until her retirement in 1995. Doris and Robert sold their home in Baldwin, NY and retired to the warm weather of West Palm Beach, FL where they enjoyed their life with a group of fellow Panamanian retirees. Doris loved to cook and entertain. She was well known for her cooking with too many dishes to name but was exceptional at her patties, codfish cakes, hot pepper sauce and hamburgers. Although she was quite by nature she truly was a force to be reckoned with. She is loved by her family and friends and well-liked by acquaintances. She was a loving wife, an exceptional mother and a wonderful friend. Doris is survived by her daughter Gisel, son Giovanni, sister Agnes Pierre, granddaughter Gina, daughter in law Virginie, brother and sister in law Ricky and Randy Fields, sister in law Norma Burden and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly. Doris M. Fields of Roosevelt, N.Y., died on December 25, 2020. family will receive friends Tuesday, December 29, 2020, from 10am-11am. followed by a family service at 11am.in the funeral home. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
